The goal that the 21 years old midfielder from Switzerland gave his team the victory they needed in order to secure their berth into the upcoming World Cup and now they have to go against Ecuador, France and Honduras as they were pitted in the same group against those teams.

But Slovenia on the other hand had to settle with a place into the 2016 Euro. They were drawn into a group that sees them going head to head with England, Switzerland, Estonia, Lithuania and San Marino.

The Slovenia coach Srecko Katanec was happy to see that he was placed into the same group as England. The former player of Sampdoria knows that England will be a tough opponent to defeat for the 2016 Euro but he believes that there could have been even harder teams to face such as Portugal, Spain or Netherlands.

“It’s no secret that due to certain characteristics ours and theirs it is easier for us to play with England than with Netherlands, Spain or Portugal. This does not mean that England is not good, indeed they are. So much that you can really lose heavily against them, that is why they were the seeded one’’.

“They are the undisputed favorites in our group. But because of certain elements of football it is easier for us to play against England. There are teams which possess more fantasy and knowledge, which are better one on one, and those are teams that we would have more problems playing with’’. Katanec revealed.
